From visiting the Umthombo street child project to the Moses Mabhida Stadium, where the FIFA World Cup semifinal will be played is a bit of a culture shock. And it highlights just how much could be achieved if the major players could get their act together to help the poorest children in the world.
The stadium is fabulous, of course. The pics tell that (that's one of our team, Dan, in the players dressing room).
But the Umthombo project is much more impressive, because it's built on the raw commitment of people like Tom Hewitt, who's given 18 years of his life to it (and still going too).
For Christians who struggle to see what we can ever achieve, they need to come here.
Tomorrow, we're off to one of the poorest townships, with the pastor of the local Baptist Church, who'll be the one of the voices of our Christmas resource.
And Nicaragua play their semifinal against Tanzania - it'll be a tough match, and Team Nic will have to be at their best.
Please pray for all the children taking part - and especially for other children who, in Durban tonight, will again sleep on the street.
